The Department of Regional Development have announced their launch of the Emerging Community Leadership Program.

The Program is a pilot project targeting southern Western Australia, and is part of a coordinated state-wide Regional Leadership Initiative to build the human capacity and capability of aspiring regional leaders in Western Australia.

Through empowering participants with increased leadership skills, individual resilience and confidence, the Program will strengthen local-decision making and contribute towards economic, business and social development of regional Western Australia.

The department’s selected provider to deliver the Program, Karrak Consulting, has a regionally-based team with a wealth of experience in leadership development and community engagement.

The Program’s first session is scheduled for June 2015 and will target 16 developing and aspiring leaders in southern Western Australia. The agenda will comprise of four workshops lasting three days, that will include individual coaching and group community action learning projects.

Applications are encouraged from men and women who are based in the southern regions of Western Australia and are committed to making a positive difference within their community or region.
